Virginia Beach!

Virginia Beach is a popular vacation spot; its beaches are very hot there during the summer. I went there last July to do mission work on roofs in 100 degree weather. It was hard, but it was very fun. At the end of the week we still got to visit the beach for a day!
We worked on a roof for a lady named Anne. It was already caving in, which is obviously very dangerous. I’m not really sure how it was legal to allow a bunch of minors on top of it. We split our group in half so that we weren’t all puttin our weight up there; the other half of the group did yard work. We dug up entire tree stumps and raked up four years worth of pine needles. At the end of the week we had about thirty bags full.
On our free day, we went to an aquarium. We watched a very 3-D realistic movie about Galapagos Island. After looking at all of the animals, we went to the beach. The day was full of fun!
The best part of our week was when the icecream truck came past the house we were working on. We were so excited—none of us had ever seen one in real life.
Since Virginia Beach is such a popular vacation place, nobody really thinks about the people in need of help there. Even though our trip to Virginia was not like others, we still had a lot of fun!
