Obon Festival JAPAN

Last year my great great grandma died at the age of 103. Everybody was happy, because in Japan when somebody dies of old age it is a happy thing that they got to live a full life.  During Obon the Japanese pay their respects to their ancestors, and this Obon was her first so there were many celebrations.
There was a lot of food and family time. We went to the festival where there were games, more food, entertainment, and many people. A few people came up to me and asked for pictures with me just because I’m Amerian... Good times.
We also went to her grave and prayed. This prayer was said by a man; it was all in an ancient language and it was about half an hour long. I couldn’t kneel for the whole thing. but some did!
At night, there were fireworks. It was a nice festival and great way to see Japan’s culture!
